The Disabled Students’ Allowance (DSA) can fund costs you might have as a direct result of your disability whilst studying. This might include assistive technology, specialist support workers, equipment, and a contribution towards travel or consumable costs.

The DSA process changed on 26 February 2024 for students applying through Student Finance England and Student Finance Wales. The information below is guidance on the new process. We recommend you apply for DSA as early as possible, including ahead of the start of your course as it takes on average 14 weeks to complete the application process.
