English language preparation

Our Pre-Sessional English Programmes will help you to develop your English language and study skills to help you progress on to your chosen degree at the University of Huddersfield.

Studying for a Pre-Sessional English Programme

Our Pre-Sessional Programme (PSP) is delivered on our campus.  The courses run between 6 weeks and 12 weeks depending on your current level of English.

As the Pre-sessional English Programme is delivered on campus, you will need a visa to study the programme.

On completion of the necessary conditions of the PSP offer, you would then be issued with a joint CAS which would cover both the Pre-Sessional English and your degree programme.  You would then obtain a visa covering both programmes here at the University of Huddersfield.

On successful completion of your Pre-Sessional Programme, you would simply then progress straight onto enrolment for the degree programme.

There are two intake options that allow you to start your degree in either September or January.

Applying is easy

To study our Pre-Sessional Programme you must have a conditional offer to study your degree with us.

If you decide to study the Pre-Sessional Programme, please email us at osadmissions@hud.ac.uk with a copy of your English Language qualification and we will process the offer for you.

Why study a course?

"Our Pre-Sessional English Programmes aim to help you develop your English language and academic study skills for your chosen degree course; including how to write in the correct academic style and present to academics and peers."
