Planning your studies
It's important for all students to plan their studies, but it can be particularly useful for students with parental responsibilities to get support in managing their time.
The Student Engagement Team offer students support with many issues for example, guidance on university regulations, individual circumstances and support to overcome any barriers to attendance or engagement. Our coaches will actively listen to the student’s situation, guide them to relevant information, ensure their understanding and support them to identify any next steps needed. Where necessary the coach will efficiently signpost to other professionals for continued support.
The Academic Skills Team can work with both undergraduate and postgraduate students. You may want to work on a specific skill or simply want to improve your grades. All of this can be discussed in your tutorial, to help you to develop and improve. Below are some of the examples of how the Academic Skills Team can support you:
- Organisation and time management
- Finding and evaluating information
- Critical thinking and constructing arguments
- Reading and note-taking strategies
