Long-term medical conditions

If you have a condition such as fibromyalgia, IBS, cancer, migraines or epilepsy, you can access support through the Disability Service. Please complete the registration form and you will be linked with one of our advisers.

There are a range of adjustments we can put in place, some examples include:

  • Support to catch up with your studies if you miss taught sessions.
  • The right to request extensions to coursework deadlines or assistance in accessing library books.
  • Specific adjustments to the learning environment.
  • Exam adjustments.

You may also be eligible for the Disabled Students’ Allowance (DSA) and we can support you to apply for this. This government fund can offer more support such as specialist software or ergonomic equipment. Please see the DSA section on the website.
