An international University

In 2020 and 2023 QS gave us an overall 5 Star Rating. This international benchmarking system renders[SB1]  Five Star universities as world-class in areas such as Teaching, Employability, Facilities, Innovation, Internationalisation and Inclusiveness.

The QS Stars system evaluates universities against a range of important performance indicators:

Teaching

The University was awarded the highest international 5 Star rating for Teaching, with areas of strength including overall student satisfaction and satisfaction with teaching. Teaching underpins the University’s strategy and we are proud to be the first and only university in the UK where 100% of permanent teaching staff* are Fellows of the Higher Education Academy. So, you’ll learn from some of the best, helping you be the best.

Employability

Employability was also recognised as an area of strength for the University with a Five Star rating. We scored the maximum rating available for graduate employability rate and career service support. We recognise the importance for students of gaining experience in the ‘real world’ during their time with us. We’re in the Top 20 in the UK for placement years in industry (HESA Student Record 2021/22).

Internationalisation

The University achieved a top 5 Star rating in the category of Internationalisation. We scored the top rating for our international research collaborations, international students, our international support centre and for international diversity.
